Todo o grupo étnico tem hoje um programa de cultura seu. Com a língua, cultura e instrução sobre história, muitas das escolas ensinam também costumes étnicos e valores. Por isso, muitos jovens passam sem esforço entre a palavra americana e a étnica. Embora Marcela Maryniak, de quinze anos, tenha emigrado da Polónia com os pais quando tinha apenas cinco anos, tem estado a frequentar uma escola polaca aos sábados desde que a família se mudou para Brooklyn.

All ethnic groups have a cultural programme of their own. Along with the language, the culture and the instruction about history, many schools also teach ethnic traditions and values. Therefore, many youngsters go between the American and the Ethnic word effortlessly. Although Marcela Maryniak, a fifteen year girl, has emigrated from Poland with her parents when she was only five, she has been attending a Polish school on Saturdays since her family has moved to Brooklyn.
