11CI Test 5 Report

Everybody talks about the problem but just a few denounce human activities. Arundhati Roy denounced international corporations. They try to privatise what cannot be privatised like rivers or other natural resources. Rachel Carson also fought against the use of pesticides and fertilizers in her time.

Ana Magalhães

Tourism is very important because it helps the economy. On the other hand, tourism can affect some animal species. People don’t respect them. We should preserve the environment and the habitats to preserve our country and make it a better place.

Nathali Campos

In my country there are no green spaces because the industry of tourism has built too many infrastructures. This country is destroying itself because of tourism and the money involved. It has caused the extinction of many species in my country and now there is only pollution and no green spaces.

Ivo Faria

In my country tourism is bad for animals because they don’t respect protected areas. The Government hasn’t come up with a good plan to protect the endangered species. Too many animals die in Portugal on roads because humans invade their habitats.

A vida é dura!

Em estima,

Alan

Hi, everyone!

News from Newquay! Every day I meet new friends here. Today I’m having a coffee with an Italian boy, Gianni. He’s a life guard on the beach and he’s staying in the same guest house. Then there’s a girl, Nicola. She’s here for the summer holidays. She’s working for her aunt, who owns a hotel here. During the year she doesn’t live in Newquay but she lives in London with her parents. I like her very much. I’m writing this postcard in a café on the beach. Life is hard!

Yours,

Alan
